Physician Assistant

Physician assistants (PAs) practice medicine as part of a healthcare team under the supervision of physicians and surgeons. They examine patients, diagnose illnesses, develop treatment plans, and may assist in surgery or prescribe medication. PAs work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, physician offices, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare facilities. Physician assistants must earn a master檚 degree from an accredited program and obtain a state license. PA programs typically take 2 to 3 years to complete.
