Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists treat patients who are injured, ill, or disabled through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help patients develop, recover, improve, and maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. Occupational therapists may assist individuals in learning to use adaptive equipment, regain motor skills, or improve cognitive function. Most occupational therapists work in hospitals or private therapy offices. Others are employed in schools, nursing homes, or home health services. Occupational therapists must earn a master檚 degree in occupational therapy and obtain a state license. Graduate programs typically take 2 to 3 years to complete.
