Richard Jenkins 69 Nominated for Golden Globe as Best Supporting Actor

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. Ķvlog School of Theatre Arts alum Richard Jenkins 69 has been nominated for a 2023 Golden Globe award by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
He was nominated in the category of best supporting actor in a series for his performance in Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story on Netflix. In the series, Jenkins plays Dahmers father, Lionel. He joins two castmates among nominees and the show itself was nominated for the category of best limited series, anthology series or television motion picture.
This is Jenkins second Golden Globe nomination in his acting career. In 2017, he was a nominee in the category of best supporting actor in a motion picture for his role as Giles in the Oscar-winning film The Shape of Water," for which he also received his second Academy Award nomination .
He won an Emmy for outstanding actor in a limited series for Olive Kitteridge in 2015 and was nominated for an Academy Award in 2009 for best actor for his starring role in The Visitor.
The 80th Golden Globes awards ceremony will air live on NBC and Peacock at 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023.
Netflix recently announced that Monster joined season 4 of Stranger Things and Squid Games in surpassing the billion-hour mark in viewing time, making it one of the streaming platform's most-watched series. The series has been renewed for a second and third season.
